A leopard that entered Klipgat in North West on Wednesday, July 29 has been captured. The leopard is believed to have escaped from a game reserve.

Footage on social media shows the animal wandering around the informal settlement, and then eventually being recaptured.

North West Police spokeswoman, Maria Nkabinde told Daily Sun that residents contacted the police when the leopard was sighted. ‘When police got there, they called the Nature Conservation department since they are the right people who will be able to get the leopard out of the area safely’ she said.

It is uncertain where the leopard escaped from.
