Heavy rains moved through the Kruger National Park over the weekend, resulting in SANParks closing various roads within the parks boundaries.

In a statement on Facebook, SANParks said that Sable dam flooded in the early hours of the morning. Guests managed to escape but vehicles were flooded. Phalaborwa Rangers who assisted the guests were helping to get their vehicles out. At around 8 am, the guests were safe at Phalaborwa gate but two cars needed to be towed.

The following roads have been closed due to rain:

S37 closed
Phalaborwa section: all gravel roads closed
Closing S28 and S130
Closing all roads on Kingfisherspruit section (Orpen area)
All gravel roads closed in Lower Sabie Section
S39 & S90 closed
