The #Hike4HopeSA initiative is a campaign aimed at raising awareness and a mission to uplift the disadvantaged through an active lifestyle. It involves hiking through various scenic routes across the Noko Resort, with a FREE entrance, as each participant is encouraged to bring a ‘Bag of Hope’ containing previously used clothes, blankets, shoes, and toys.

‘Our mission is to empower, inspire, and uplift the communities by donating these ‘Bags of Hope’, which show support and ensure that people have access to the basic resources that they need to improve their livelihoods,’ says Jerry Ramodike, the CEO of Noko Resort.

All the collected ‘Bags of Hope’ will be donated to the less fortunate around the Ga Mamabolo and Ga Molepo communities. As part of this year’s Winter Drive, the #Hike4HopeSA initiative seeks to provide basic needs and essentials to the less advantaged and serves as a powerful reminder to each participant that pledges to complete the course of the importance of giving back to our communities.

‘This is the first #Hike4HopeSA event, and we anticipate over 150 participants, the event plays a vital role in supporting the community and ensures that those less fortunate are also cared for,” says Ramodike.

The hike is open to anyone who is interested, and participants can choose hiking trails ranging from a moderate 5 km; 7km moderate to hard; and for those who want to go the long haul, a 12km finish.

‘We at Noko Resort are extremely passionate about contributing to the development and well-being of our community, building relationships and making a positive impact in society.’

Participants are reminded not to forget their hiking essentials such as hiking boots, water bottle, sunglasses, a hat or cap and sunscreen. Following the hike, participants will be treated to the live performances of musical artists, House Victimz – Shiloe and Poizen, Mathata the DJ, Dibz, Bhuts Tunz, Brown, Flavor, Red, DJ Cat, Teez, Da Lilo who will be playing their latest jams after a day well spent.
