Qatar Airways is set for one of its busiest summer seasons yet, with the airline expanding its network to more than 160 destinations worldwide and restoring services to 26 cities across Africa, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

The announcement marks another milestone for the Doha-based carrier as it continues rebuilding and strengthening global connectivity. The airline says the expanded network will offer travellers greater flexibility and more seamless international connections through its hub at Hamad International Airport in Doha.
Recently named the World’s Best Airline at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards for a record ninth time, Qatar Airways has steadily increased operations since March 2026, when it resumed services to more than 60 destinations. This latest expansion will see the carrier serve over 160 destinations during the Northern Hemisphere summer travel season.
The airline’s growth strategy focuses on reconnecting key international markets while maintaining its reputation for reliability and service. In 2025, Qatar Airways achieved an on-time performance rate of 84.42%, earning Cirium’s Platinum Award for Operational Excellence.
For travellers transiting through Doha, Hamad International Airport remains a major attraction in its own right. The airport offers an extensive range of shopping and dining experiences through Qatar Duty Free, while members of the airline’s Privilege Club loyalty programme can earn and redeem Avios points throughout their journey.
Passengers can also stay connected in the air. More than 140 Qatar Airways aircraft are now equipped with Starlink technology, making it the world’s largest Starlink-enabled widebody fleet. The service offers internet speeds of up to 500 Mbps in both Economy and Premium cabins.
Africa routes return
Among the destinations returning to the network this summer are several African favourites. Services to Kigali in Rwanda will operate twice weekly, while flights to the Seychelles will run four times a week. Marrakesh in Morocco returns with daily flights, joining the previously announced launch of Port Sudan from 2 July.
Expansion across the Americas
Qatar Airways is also strengthening its presence in the Americas. Services to Caracas and Bogotá are scheduled to begin on 22 July, while flights to Philadelphia resume on 1 August.
Boston will initially receive four weekly flights before increasing to daily services to support travel demand during the FIFA World Cup 2026. Additional host cities benefiting from increased frequencies include Los Angeles, San Francisco and Miami.
More options across Asia Pacific
Travellers heading east will see the return of several popular routes, including Adelaide, Auckland, Osaka, Tokyo Haneda, Almaty, Baku, Tashkent, Tbilisi and Yerevan.
Some destinations will also receive additional frequencies. Tokyo Haneda, for example, will increase from four to seven weekly flights from 1 August.
European connectivity grows
The airline is also expanding services across Europe, restoring routes to cities including Brussels, Budapest, Düsseldorf, Lisbon, Oslo, Prague, Belgrade and Zagreb.
Helsinki will initially operate four times weekly before increasing to daily flights from August, while several other European destinations will receive daily service throughout the summer season.
The expansion reflects growing demand for international travel and reinforces Doha’s role as one of the world’s leading aviation hubs, connecting travellers across continents through a single gateway.
