Scenic Cruises has unveiled their new ‘groundbreaking’ submersible, Scenic Neptune II, offering underwater excursions in Australia, East Antarctica, South Pacific and more for guests of the Scenic Eclipse II cruise.

The announcement of Scenic’s latest submersible follows successful trials and safety certifications for its new Triton 660/9 AVA submersibles, Scenic Neptune I and Scenic Neptune II, as per reports by Travel News.

As per reports, these submersible excursions will be deployed on the Scenic Eclipse II cruise, offering guests voyages to Australia, East Antarctica, and the South Pacific, as well as tours of the Great Barrier Reef and underwater excursions to icebergs. Each voyage will be led by an expert team.

Jason Flesher, Scenic’s Director of Discovery Operations, says:

“The clarity of the acrylic hull once submerged is such that you feel at one with the water.”

Creators of the new submersible, Triton Submarines, describe the submersible experience as “completely immersive,” with the ability to dive up to 100m.

A statement released by the luxury submersible manufacturer reads:

“Featuring 270-degree panoramic views, the 660/9 AVA has been designed to provide a completely immersive underwater experience.”

If this sounds like an experience you’d jump at, Scenic Cruises is represented by Cruise Vacations in the South African market.
