This majestic serval was spotted in the grasslands of the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania.
According to SANBI, they are known as Africa’s tallest small cats. Servals are strong yet slender, with large ears and long legs, their greatest tools for hunting.
Their prominent ears give them an acute sense of hearing and their long legs allow them to jump 2-3m into the air. On average, servals catch their prey in over half of their attempts, making them one of the best hunters of all the wild cats. Their success rate is about 20% better than lions hunting in a pride.
