According to Travel Trends Today, Deepika Nair, Acting Trade Manager for South African Tourism, will lead the initiative, which aims to engage corporate decision‑makers from industries such as IT, pharmaceuticals, and financial services.

The event will be held in four Indian cities on the following dates:

  • Hyderabad — September 19, 2025

  • Chennai — November 7, 2025

  • Pune — December 12, 2025

  • Kolkata — January 30, 2026

A key goal of expanding beyond metro centres is to reach emerging business hubs like Chennai and Kolkata, enhancing accessibility and inclusivity.

Discussions during the Think Tank will focus on:

  • Evolving travel and event trends (digital transformation, sustainability)

  • Innovative strategies for large‑scale conferences, incentive travel, and team building

  • The integration of business infrastructure with leisure, highlighting South Africa’s capabilities as an experiential destination

In 2024, India emerged as one of South Africa’s fastest‑growing markets for MICE travel, contributing 20.2% of overall MICE arrivals. Nearly half (49.6%) of all Indian tourist arrivals were for business or MICE purposes, underlining the importance of this segment for South Africa’s tourism strategy.
