The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued weather warnings for several parts of the country for December 2.

A Yellow Level 1 warning for damaging winds, with possible impact such as difficulty in navigation at sea, is expected between Lambert’s Bay and Betty’s Bay from Wednesday afternoon.

Damaging winds are also expected in the areas of Saldanha Bay and difficulty in navigation at sea is expected.

Those operating vessels at sea are advised to exercise extreme caution.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are predicted for the Nama-Khoi and Kamiesberg Municipalities of the Northern Cape.

Residents are urged to be cautious and not leave any fires unattended, and to operate flammable items in a responsible manner.
