Children across the world have had to rely on their bedrooms and laptop as the COVID-19 pandemic made remote learning the new normal.
The Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is turning the drawbacks of remote learning into a positive. While the end of summer typically signifies a smaller turnout, the resort is taking advantage of children’s flexible schedules by offering supervised ‘schoolcations’.

Kids are able to attend class remotely from a quiet, dedicated virtual learning space on the resort. Each classroom has no more than six students and desks are spaced out in accordance with social distancing regulations. Learners are equipped with free Wi-Fi, and can either learn half day between 9am to 12pm or have a full day of education from 9am to 3pm, with lunch included.

The team overseeing the study sessions are trained Kids For All Seasons staff, who have years of experience in working with children.
Once their work is done, learners can have some fun in the Explorer Island water park and enjoy outdoor play time with sports like basketball, volleyball and table-tennis.

‘This new offering exclusively for our Resort guests will be both helpful to parents, as well as something really fun for kids to experience,’ Thomas Steinhauer, General Manager and Regional Vice President of Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort said in a statement.
‘Many kids have been completing school work in their homes for a while now. A chance to mix up their learning environment, and combine school and playtime at the Resort, is sure to be a welcome treat and create a memory that will last a lifetime.’
The supervised study sessions will run from Monday to Friday and begin September 14. They cost $50 USD per child for a half-day session or $100 USD per child for the full session including lunch.
