Travellers will soon have the best of both worlds as the long-awaited Mardi Gras ship prepares to take to the seas in 2021, offering the peace of the ocean and the excitement of an amusement park in one.

The popular cruise company shared a sneak peek of what can be expected ahead of the ships opening in the new year.

What makes the feature even more exciting is that thrill-seekers will be able to control the ride themselves.

On top of this, those who hop on the ride will be able to enjoy 360° views of the ocean as they whizz about the coaster course, high above sea level.

Those wanting to take it slower will be able to pilot the coaster at their preferred speed as well, its the perfect coaster experience for everyone.

The ride features just two seats and uses a motorcycle-style car that makes its way around the course at a top speed of 64km per hour.

Appropriately named ‘BOLT’, the coaster will zip around the ship offering unique views over 50m above the water line.

Mardi Gras is currently under construction in Finland and will feature 2 600 staterooms, tonnes of entertainment and dining area as well as six themed zones.
