Getting from Cape Town to Paris is about to become a little simpler, with Air France bringing back its seasonal direct service between the two cities for the 2026/27 summer season.

The route resumes on 22 September 2026, giving travellers a non-stop connection between Cape Town International Airport and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. The service will run until 27 March 2027, with the number of weekly flights increasing as the season progresses.
For anyone planning a European escape, that means one less connection to worry about. It also gives travellers from France and elsewhere in Europe a straightforward route into Cape Town during the busy summer travel period.
Three flights a week to start
From 22 September to 31 October, Air France will operate three flights a week between Cape Town and Paris, departing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The Cape Town departure is scheduled for 00:15, arriving in Paris at 12:15 the same day. Because the flight leaves just after midnight, passengers will need to arrive at Cape Town International Airport the evening before.
From 1 November, the schedule increases to five flights a week, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The departure time also shifts to 08:30, with arrival in Paris at 19:20.
All flights on the route will be operated by Air France’s Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
More than just a flight to Paris
The appeal of a direct Cape Town to Paris service goes beyond simply avoiding a layover. Paris-Charles de Gaulle is one of Air France’s main hubs, giving travellers the option of continuing onwards to other European destinations from the French capital. For South Africans planning a multi-city European trip, Cape Town to Paris can therefore serve as the first leg of a much bigger journey.
It works in the other direction too. Travellers from France and other parts of Europe can reach Cape Town without having to connect elsewhere in Africa or the Middle East.
Air France-KLM’s Southern Africa Country Manager, Wilson Tauro, said the increase to five weekly flights for most of the season would give travellers greater flexibility when planning European trips.
With the route running through the southern hemisphere summer, it also arrives at a useful time for travellers looking to trade Cape Town’s warmer months for winter in France or escape the European winter for summer in the Cape.
The seasonal service is currently scheduled to operate until 27 March 2027.
