Things to do for sport lovers at Sun City Resort

Posted on 24 May 2022 By David Henning

With more than 30 restaurants to choose from at Sun City, and a choice of multiple pools to laze at, there’s no shortage of relaxation options.

But, fitness junkie guests antsy to get their regular fix are not left out, as the resort offers a myriad sporting options.

You can pack your running shoes, tennis racquet, mountain bike or golf clubs when you visit the popular North West Province resort, and enjoy a variety of top-notch facilities.

Take your pick between two of the country’s 18 hole top golf courses, the Gary Player Country Club and The Lost City Golf Course, both designed by South African golfing legend Gary Player. Golfing fans can also watch the world’s best golfers compete for top dollar at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, celebrating its milestone 40th anniversary from 10-13 November.

Mountain bikers can bring their own bikes to complete the 9.7km trail through the Letsatsing Game Park while ticking game viewing off the list at the same time.

There is also the Sun Bike Park, a multi-wheel asphalt pump track for skateboards, BMX, mountain bikes, dirt jump bikes and roller skates.

Still looking for more? The tennis and beach volleyball fitness facilities are perfect for couples or groups of friends who want to stay in shape on holiday.

Those that want to hit the gym can work out with top of the range gym equipment in the fitness centre situated at the Gary Player Health Spa. It is accessible to Cabanas, Sun City and Cascades hotel residents for either R50 a day or R120 for a three-day package. Residents of The Palace can access it for free when they produce their room card.

Pack your bags and enjoy your trip, without feeling guilty for indulging in the cocktails and scrumptious food on offer!
