Fastjet launches direct Kruger to Vic Falls flights

Posted on 17 March 2022 By Lauren Dold

Travellers will now be able to watch the sun rise on the Crocodile river, and have lunch on the Zambezi with a new direct flight linking Kruger National Park to Victoria Falls.

Operated by Fastjet Zimbabwe, the first flight took off from Mbombela’s Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) on 16 March and landed to a water salute in Victoria Falls under two hours later.

Tourists looking to visit these popular safari destinations will be able to bypass city layovers altogether with this new flight option. The direct flights will initially operate on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday using the airline’s Embraer ERJ145 aircraft, and from July 2022 the service will be increased to a daily flight.

Tickets between Mbombela and Vic Falls are on sale now, with the first flights available in April. One-way tickets currently cost between R3,950 and R4,720 depending on direction and dates.

Fastjet currently connects Johannesburg and Harare to Vic Falls, with plans to add an additional route linking Maun with Vic Falls later in the year.
