Kruger petrol station bursts into flames after lightning strike

Posted on 15 November 2021 By David Henning

The filling station at Lower Sabie burst into flames on Saturday evening, 13 November 2021, after lightning struck the building.

The fire was contained after a prompt response from the KNP fire engine and team. The station is closed until further notice, and guests should plan to refuel either at Skukuza or Crocodile Bridge.

This is the second fire this month after a large fire broke out in the Tshokwane area of the Kruger National Park, where visitors to the parks Tamboti Camp and Kingfisher Ranger Post had to be evacuated on  2 November 2021.
