Travellers eyeing international escapes this winter will benefit from Qatar Airways’ expanded seasonal schedule, which includes a notable increase in flights to over 15 destinations globally—particularly across Africa.

The airline will now operate 35 weekly flights to key African cities, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Casablanca, as part of its commitment to enhancing global connectivity through its Doha hub at Hamad International Airport.

This winter, passengers flying with Qatar Airways—recently named the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2025 for a record ninth time—can look forward to more flexibility and frequency across popular routes.

Boost for African travel routes

Travellers to and from Africa will benefit from:

  • Cape Town: Increased from 10 to 12 weekly flights
  • Johannesburg: Increased from 14 to 18 weekly flights
  • Casablanca: Increased from 4 to 5 weekly flights

These adjustments aim to meet rising demand from both leisure and business travellers seeking warmer destinations or global onward connections during the winter season.

Record-breaking London frequency and wider global expansion

Qatar Airways has also announced its highest-ever frequency to London Heathrow, now offering up to 10 daily flights, complemented by British Airways’ double daily service. This push highlights London’s continued status as a key global hub for the airline.

Other boosted routes include:

  • Dublin: 14 to 17 weekly flights
  • São Paulo: 14 to 18 weekly flights
  • Tokyo Narita: 11 to 14 weekly flights
  • Frankfurt and Berlin: Both cities see service increases to 21 weekly flights
  • Toronto: Increased to daily service
  • Maldives and Phuket: Now up to 4 daily flights each for tropical getaways

Australia gets added attention

In a move reinforcing its footprint in the Australian market, Qatar Airways will resume flights to Canberra and, through a new partnership with Virgin Australia, expand operations between Melbourne and Doha to three daily flights.

Wi-Fi, you actually want to use

Passengers flying Qatar Airways this season will also benefit from free high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, available across the airline’s fleet of 54 Boeing 777s. Qatar Airways remains the only carrier in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to offer this service. The Airbus A350 fleet is next in line for the upgrade, expected to be completed within a year.

Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori stated:

“Qatar Airways is consistently witnessing a steady rise in demand for our 5-star services to some of the most prominent destinations in the world… Our latest frequency increases reaffirm our position as the preferred airline for premium global travel.”
