Security innovation is taking flight at Sun City Resort, where Fidelity Services Group has officially deployed its first DJI Dock 3 on site.
The rollout marks a notable shift in how large-scale destinations approach safety. More than a drone stationed on a rooftop, the system introduces an autonomous aerial response unit designed for real-time surveillance, rapid deployment and improved visibility across the resort.
Integrated into a central command environment, the drone can be dispatched quickly to monitor incidents, patrol key areas and support on-the-ground teams. The result is a faster, more coordinated response, particularly in a sprawling property where coverage and timing are critical.
For Sun City, one of South Africa’s most recognisable leisure destinations, the move signals growing confidence in drone-led security solutions. It also reflects a broader trend within the industry, where technology is increasingly used to enhance guest safety without disrupting the visitor experience.
As autonomous systems become more common, deployments like this are expected to shape the future of security operations across the country’s tourism hotspots.
