Washington Post Travel Photo Contest winners announced

The Washington Post‘s annual Travel Photo Contest generates some of the most remarkable amateur photography in the United States.

The 2020 winners have been announced and their work is mesmerising. To enter the competition, photos must have been taken during 2019 or 2020, and only photographers who make less than 50% of their annual income from photography were eligible.

This year was the 21st contest, and the three winners and 10 honorable mentions were chosen from over 1,200 entries. ‘Travel photography transports us as surely as travel itself,’ writes The Washington Post.
