2. The Outpost, Kruger National Park

Each of the 12 slick rooms at this luxury lodge have foldaway glass doors, which means you can lounge in bed or in the bath and gaze at the expanse of bush and Luvuvhu River, which is a soap’s throw away.

3. Tinyeleti Treehouse, Kruger National Park

Essentially a 50-square-metre wooden deck set on the banks of the Sabie River, your views in the day are of the animals that come to quench their thirst, and at night of the stars above your head, as the treehouse is completely open to the elements.
From R3 950 per person sharing, including a picnic dinner and drinks.

The outdoor entertainment deck at this modern, uber-stylish seaside home has ridiculous views of the Indian Ocean which, if you’re lucky, is often alive with dolphins. Poolside couches make sea-staring that much more comfy.

With floor-to-ceiling glass, this designer addition to the V&A Waterfront, at the top of the city’s internationally lauded architectural marvel, has views of Table Mountain, the city, the harbour and pretty much everything in between.
