Jonkershuis – Drink Deep by the Fountain

There is something about farm life that refreshes the soul.

Perhaps it is the silence that allows your thoughts to settle. Maybe it is the air that tastes different out here. Jonkersfontein is a working farm, a family business, a dream brought to life through hard work and godly patience. The humility of farm life invites you to relax in comfort.

At Jonkershuis, we invite you to live a little closer to the earth for a while.

Jonkersfontein Farm is surrounded by young avocado orchards, and the guesthouse carries its name well — Jonkershuis: a refuge, an anchor to feel young again. Here, there is no rush or schedule driving you forward, only the gentle rhythm of the day carrying you softly from morning to evening.

Jonkershuis offers two spacious rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom — private, peaceful, and comfortably furnished. The heart of the house is a fully equipped modern farmhouse kitchen that flows openly into a cosy living area with an open fireplace. This is where people naturally gather, effortlessly — coffee in hand, the crackling fire burning, and conversations beginning in the early morning and carrying on long into the night.

But it is the evening that truly quiets the soul.

Stand on the porch and watch the sun disappear behind the Langeberg mountains and rolling hills — colours no photographer could ever fully capture. It is the kind of moment that reminds you why you came here. Afterwards, the braai area and swimming pool await, where the night offers its own kind of luxury: stars without city lights, air without noise.

Jonkershuis is not an escape from life, but rather a return to it.
