In Limpopo, Mapungubwe National Park combines ecological and archaeological significance. May is a favourable time to visit due to milder daytime temperatures and reduced vegetation density, which improves game viewing conditions.
The park supports species such as elephant, giraffe and a variety of antelope, often seen along riverine corridors. In addition to wildlife, Mapungubwe is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
