Pizza Connection, a beloved wood-fired pizzeria in Woodstock, has been crowned one of the world’s top pizzas in Time Out’s latest international roundup of the 18 best pizzas on the planet.
Landing at #11 on the list, Pizza Connection stands out as the only Cape Town entry for 2026 – a huge achievement for the Mother City’s culinary landscape. Its standout pie, The Capetonian, captures local flair with San Marzano tomato, fior di latte mozzarella, pancetta, red onion, avocado and a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil.
Behind the scenes is serious craft: the team lets its dough ferment naturally for 48 hours and cooks at blistering heat, creating airy, flavour-rich crusts that have impressed pizza lovers and critics alike.
This latest accolade adds to Cape Town’s growing reputation as a world-class food destination – evidenced also by past recognition for local favourites like NOVO’s The Fellini pizza and the city’s broader win as one of the world’s best places to eat.
