Qatar Airways has unveiled an expanded flight schedule, growing its global network to more than 150 destinations and strengthening connectivity across Africa.

The updated timetable, effective from 16 June to 15 September 2026, introduces new routes and increased frequencies to meet rising travel demand during the northern hemisphere summer season. For travellers in southern Africa, this coincides with the winter travel period, a time when international travel typically sees an uptick.
Across the African continent, the airline will now serve 25 destinations. These include major hubs such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Nairobi and Cairo, alongside regional connections like Entebbe, Kilimanjaro and Maputo.
New additions to the network include flights to Kinshasa from 16 May, Luanda from 16 May, Port Harcourt from 1 May, and Marrakesh and Seychelles from 16 June. Alexandria will also be added from mid-June, further expanding North African access.
The expanded schedule is designed to offer greater flexibility and improved connectivity through Doha, reinforcing the airline’s role as a key link between Africa and the rest of the world.
Passengers with existing bookings will be contacted directly with any updates to their itineraries. The airline has advised travellers to regularly check its website or app and ensure their contact details remain current.
For those travelling between 28 February and 15 September 2026, a range of flexible options is available. These include complimentary date changes up to 31 October 2026, subject to availability, as well as the option to request refunds for unused tickets.
As with all international travel, schedules remain subject to change due to operational or regulatory factors. Travellers are advised to confirm their flight details before heading to the airport.
