Royal Caribbean announces a nine-month world cruise

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s ‘Serenade of the Seas’ is set to sail across 60 countries over a nine-month voyage. The cruise will begin in December 2023 and will conclude in September 2024 after 274 nights of sailing.

 

According to Royal Caribbean’s website, the massive cruise ship is approximately 294 metres long and has 13 decks allowing it to accommodate up to 2,476 guests. The ultimate world cruise will cover all seven continents, spanning more than 60 countries and stopping at over 150 destinations around the globe. The cruise, beginning in Miami, will include stops at all 11 wonders of the world such as Peru’s Machu Picchu, India’s Taj Mahal, and Argentina’s Iguazú Falls.

The voyage is supposedly organised into four geographic segments namely the Round the Horn: Americas & Antarctica Expedition (36 destinations, 64 nights); the Wonders of Asia & the Pacific Expedition (40 destinations, 87 nights); the Middle East Treasures & Marvels of the Med Expedition (44 destinations, 63 nights); and lastly the Capitals of Culture Expedition (40 destinations, 63 nights). The cruise offers its passengers the option to either book the full nine-month experience, or to schedule a specific portion of the trip that suits them.

The cruise is set to embark on 10 December 2023 from Miami, USA, and will return after its nine-month voyage on 10 September 2024 in Florida, USA. According to CNN Travel, the full excursion will cost between $66,000 and $112,000 per person with taxes and additional fees not included.
