London’s first 360° infinity pool

Posted on 10 June 2019

The world’s very first 360° infinity pool may soon make its way to London and will be perched atop a 55-storey-high skyscraper.

This incredible architectural concept was thought up by UK-based swimming pool creators Compass Pools. If the project is greenlighted, it may become of the city’s hottest attractions.

The pool will accommodate up to 600,000 litres of water, and will boast a transparent wall and floor. This will allow swimmers not only to have an unrestricted view across the city but also of the hotel below. The pool will also have a built-in anemometer that will monitor wind speeds and control the water temperature.

How one exits the pool is the question — looking through the gallery above, there’s no visible staircase or ladder. Instead, as designboom reports, swimmers will be able to get in and out of the pool through a rotating spiral staircase that rises from the pool floor.

If the project gets the go-ahead, construction work may commence next year.
