Martial eagle attacks a large monitor lizard Posted by David Henning on 24 May 2022 Martial eagles are prolific hunters, able to spot their prey from 6km away and their sharp talons make them well equipped to handle something as big as a Nile monitor lizard. This sighting, captured by Nombekana Safaris and Wildlife Photography in Kruger National Park, shows the lizard’s final fight for life, but it was ultimately subdued by the eagle.
