Visitors to Table Mountain can now explore more of its iconic summit with ease, following the opening of a new Universal Access Walkway designed to improve inclusivity.

The initiative, led by South African National Parks in partnership with Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, marks a meaningful upgrade at one of South Africa’s most visited natural landmarks. It introduces safer, more comfortable access for wheelchair users, visitors with prams, and anyone navigating mobility challenges.
Set against sweeping views of Table Mountain National Park, the walkway is part of a broader push toward universal design. The aim is simple but significant: to make the summit experience more inclusive without compromising the mountain’s natural appeal.
For SANParks and TMACC, the project reflects a shared commitment to accessibility and dignity in outdoor spaces. It also aligns with a growing global focus on inclusive tourism, ensuring that natural heritage sites are open to all, regardless of physical ability.
