Football may be the main attraction at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but some host cities are offering fans the chance to add beach days to their tournament itinerary.

A recent analysis by Beach.com ranked the best beaches near every World Cup stadium, revealing which venues are just minutes from the shoreline and which require a much longer journey.
Canada leads the way
The most beach-friendly World Cup destinations are found in Canada.
Toronto’s BMO Field topped the rankings, with the nearest qualifying beach just a six-minute drive away. Vancouver’s BC Place followed closely behind, offering beach access in roughly seven minutes. According to the study, both Canadian host cities provide exceptionally easy access to lakefront and coastal beaches, making them ideal destinations for travellers looking to combine football with outdoor recreation.
Los Angeles and Miami score highly
Among the American host cities, Los Angeles performed particularly well.
SoFi Stadium sits just 14 minutes from Dockweiler Beach, making it the closest ocean beach to any World Cup venue. Seattle’s Lumen Field and Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium also ranked among the easiest stadiums for beach access, with travel times of around 16 and 24 minutes respectively.
For visitors, that means a morning on the sand and an evening under the floodlights could easily become part of the same itinerary.
Not every host city is coastal
While some venues enjoy quick access to the shoreline, others require considerably more planning.
Kansas City’s GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium ranked as the least beach-accessible venue in the study, with the closest qualifying beach nearly five hours away by car. Mexico City, Monterrey, Atlanta and Dallas also featured among the host cities furthest from a beach.
The contrast highlights the geographic diversity of the 2026 tournament, which will stretch across three countries and dozens of climate zones.

- BMO Field, Toronto – approximately 6 minutes
- BC Place, Vancouver – approximately 7 minutes
- SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles – approximately 14 minutes
- Lumen Field, Seattle – approximately 16 minutes
- Hard Rock Stadium, Miami – approximately 24 minutes
